Height adjustable YF knee protectors certified according to EN 1621-1:2012
Modeka are a German company that have been manufacturing motorcycle garments since the 1950’s. Their ethos is: Safety, Function and Price. In that order. And we at LadyBiker agree. As a family-run business, and being riders themselves, Modeka are involved in every aspect from the initial design to sourcing new materials to the final testing stages of the garments. Like ourselves, they wouldn’t make anything they wouldn’t feel confident to ride in.
Bought these for a trip to Morocco next month so I was looking for something that would suit riding through Europe in April but still be cool enough for the desert. I bought the black and as I am usually a size 14 I ordered a 16 on Ladybikers advice but they were too big so re-ordered a 14 which was a perfect fit. I always have problems with trousers as I am only 5 foot so a short length is a must and these are fine (as you can imagine even short lengths are a bit long on me!!). They are really comfortable to wear, nice and high at the back of the waist and fit well over both my shortie summer boots and my great clumpy winter Altbergs. Haven't tried them out in hot weather yet but am pretty sure they will keep me cool with the vents and vented panels. Have tried them in our recent artic conditions and with the liners in I was quite warm enough so I will be wearing these trousers all year round. As stated in the previous review, they don't feel too bulky or heavy and they are good quality. Very tempted to try the jacket.
Great summer trousers
Please have a look at my review for the Modeka Belastar jacket as a lot of it is relevant to the trousers that have performed equally as well as the jacket over the past 1,000 miles. Usually a size 16, I opted for a 20 (46) as an 18 wasn't available in the grey and I needed them quickly due to heat exhaustion! The waist and hips are fine (adjustable waist) but they۪re pretty long in the leg even with my raised Daytona Ladystar boots. I knew this was a risk when I ordered a size 20 but as the fitting of knee armour is adjustable (velcro tabs in the armour pockets) they still sit where they should when I'm on the bike. The option of a short fitting in the grey would have been a bonus though as I'm only 5'4". I've no regrets though and I'm really pleased with these trousers. They're an absolute blessing in hot weather thanks to mesh panels and additional venting concealed behind zips. I've added hip armour but knee armour comes as standard. I feel smart, cool and comfortable without have compromised on quality and protection. As with the jacket, the trousers are substantial but not bulky or heavy. The finish is also very good. .
